Problem

Can't open V7 file in MicroStation SE

A file saved as a V7 file in V8 can't be opened in MicroStation SE. Trying to open this file in SE results in an exception.

Solution

Turn Enhanced Precision off in V8 Set MS_V7SAVEWITHOUTENHANCEDPRECISION = 1

Older versions of MicroStation (<(><<)>7.1) don't support enhanced precision.

Setting MS_V7SAVEWITHOUTENHANCEDPRECISION=1 in V8 will force MicroStation not to use enhanced precision for V7 files.
