Problem

File doesn't open with chosen program.
Files do not open with correct version of program. Would like to
associate to a different version.

Solution

First resolution:
Right click on any file type you would like to set and select 'Open
with' then 'Choose default program'.
If the program is listed in the dialog, highlight it. Check on "Always
use the selected program to open this kind of file". Click OK.
Those file types should now open with that program, if not, move on to
second resolution.

Second resolution:
Open Windows Explorer. Go to Tools>Folder Options.
Select the File Types tab. Search for file type you want and highlight
it.
Select the Advanced button in the lower right corner of the dialog. This
will open the Edit File Type dialog.
In this dialog select the New button. Enter 'open' for the Action and
then browse for the program EXE file you would like the file type to
open with. In the path that displays after selecting the EXE, scroll to
the far right, add a space, then %1 inside of double quotes. Example:
C:\Program Files\Bentley\MicroStation\ustation.exe "%1"
