Problem

Support of 400 degrees (gon, centesimal), looking for the support of the angle unit from degrees to centesimal degrees (40 0 gon). At this moment this is only possible for dimensioning.

Solution

MS (v08.01.01.09 and higher) supports of the 400 degrees angular system. E.g. in AccuDraw (in Polar mode) and with defining the active angle (in the Active Angle dialog box that is opened with the key-in dialog activeangle)

The 400 degrees angular system is defined per design file. In the DGN File Settings dialog box (MS menu bar > Settings > Design File) select the category Coordinate Readout. Set the Format to Gradians and the Mode to Azimuth. With these settings the positive y-ax is the zero direction, and the positive x-ax is 100 grads.

In MS/J it is not possible to set the degrees used by MicroStation to centesimal (or the 400 degree system) degrees. MicroStation uses the 360 degree system, which means that a full circle is 360 degrees. The only option is to change between the angles being given in hours, minutes seconds or as a degree with a number of decimals. This can be
changed under Settings > Design File > Coordinate Readout. Here you can also set the number of decimal digits if desired.
