When placing a new table into a design, how do I control the initial size of a Table being placed?

Background

When placing a Table in a design its size is determined by the active Text Style or Table seed if one is chosen. If there are no defined Text Styles or Table seeds available it will use the local Default Text Style.

Steps to Accomplish

Option 1 Selecting a Text Style to use

  1. Select the Place Table tool
  2. In the Tool Settings select the required Text Style to use, by selecting the drop down arrow next to the Text Style Name.

Option 2 Edit the Default Text Style font size

  1. Select the Place Table tool
  2. Select the … icon in the tool settings against the Text Style name ( See image above ) to open the Text Styles dialog
  3. Change the Default Text Styles Height/Width as required and Save

Note: Changing this Text Style may affect any other text previously placed. Thus it may be more appropriate to create a new Text Style to use. (The site administrator may wish to create a Text Style in a DGNLIB file for all to use). Note also having saved the style the Place Table tool should be re selected to read the changes.

Option 3 Select a predefined Table Seed

  1. Select the Place Table tool
  2. In the Tool Settings select the required Table Seed by selecting the drop down arrow next to the Table Seed name. ( Assuming these have been defined )

Note: The Annotation Scale may be applied to the Table Seed which will also have a bearing on size at placement.
