Overview

With the introduction of Design Models in MicroStation V8, cells can now be manipulated and modified without having to drop the cell header. See the Models FAQ for more information on MicroStation V8 and Models.

Recommendation

  1. From the MicroStation Manager, set the List Files of Type filter to: Cell Files [*.cel]

  2. Open a Cell Library as you would a DGN.
  3. From the File menu, choose Models.

  4. Choose the Model that contains the cell to be manipulated / modified.

  5. Make all changes, keeping in mind that there is no limit on the size of a cell.
  6. Either Save or Commit changes to Design History, as applicable. For information about Design History, see the Design History FAQ.
  7. Repeat Steps 4-6 for each cell to be manipulated/modified.

You can now attach the cell library and place the manipulated/modified cells.
