Problem:

How to review a material library default values in AutoPIPE?

Answer questions like:

How can I review to see if there is a default material with chromium content for CM, LC, MC, IC, and CR, that are offered by pull down when modeling a B31.4 system?

Is A53-A material available in B31.4 - 2012?

What references were used as a bases for the values in AutoPIPE's material libraries?

Solution:

#1: What references were used as a bases for the values in AutoPIPE's material libraries:

Help > Contents> Contents Tab> Reference Information> Libraries> Code Dependent Pipe Materials> Select the Pipe material Library used in your model (ex. B314-12.LIB code materials, and review the table information for "Referenced Standard Information" (ex. CS) per material name (ex. 5LX-X46)

Then refer to the following help section,  Libraries>  Standard Pipe Materials> Select the Pipe material library in your model (ex. B313-04.LIB Standard Materials), and review the meaning of the data from the previous table (ex. CS = Low Carbon).

#2: What are the actual material values used by AutoPIPE:

Material data is stored in an SRC file, these files have a very specific structure that must be meticulously followed. One mistake in this file can render the material useless in the program or calculate wrong results. Material SRC files are compiled into LIB files that can then be used by AutoPIPE. Therefore the user has 2 different locations with which to look at material data; SRC file or LIB file. Again note, that the SRC is use to compile the LIB, but it is the LIB file that is used by the program. One can look at the SRC file, but must be a 100% sure that a particular SRC file was used to generate a given LIB file in the program's folder. Where as when reviewing the LIB file from within the program, one can be assured that the values shown are the ones used by the program.

Review SRC file material data

Use Library Editor  command (Tools > Tools > Library Editor) enables you to manage (add, remove, edit) the AutoPIPE Material Library data.

Please see the following AutoPIPE help section:
Help > Contents> Search Tab> enter "Library Editor" (include the quotes), press List Topics button, double click on the selected topic from the list provided to see more information.

Review LIB file material data

Select Tool> Library> Set Table Name = Specs, Library name = (select the material library used in your model, ex. B314-12), Action = Scan, and press OK button.

See the AutoPIPE Report Viewer that will display the library information:

Scan the entire report to review the standard material names and respective Spec names.

Again Select Tool> Library> Set Table Name = Material, Library name = (select the material library used in your model, ex. B314-12), Action = Scan, and press OK button.

Again the AutoPIPE Report Viewer that will display the library information:

Question:

Where is the Ultimate Allowable stress information?

Answer:

Open Pipe properties dialog, press help button, select hyperlink text "Ultimate(Su)" for detailed information on this topic.

Note: not all material field information will be available in every material library. Information presented on the dialog and available in the library is dependent upon the Piping code & Year selected. As the case here, Ultimate(Su) data is only available for B31.3,  B31.8, Swedish and TBK piping codes and therefore data will not be available in other (ex. B31.1) material libraries.
