Sorry I do not know the approval process.
Hi Steve,
I am still waiting for approval to access the community. Is it normal to take so long?
Kind regards.
Thanks Steve,
I applied for access to the experts community so when this is approved I'll definitly look in to it.
I think we may have covered this in an OPPID ask the experts.
The associated items documents have examples of creating relationships, that may be a point to start looking till we can get more "How To" documents out there.
As you can imagine, clients will have the oddest wishes.
But for my next project I need to create a completely new class of security objects that need to be related to one or more valves. I don't think it is something special but I need to know the basics so I can move on from there.
I allready started to look at some existing relations to try and figure out the mechanics but it is hard when there is no documentation available.
Sorry, as of today I do not have white paper on this subject. I will put this on my to do list :)
Are there specific details that you are looking for? If so I could apply those to the future document on the subject.
I found the tool to show the relations in OPPID, so that works for me.
I've been working through the links you gave me but most of them are handling project databases witch I don't use. Is there no straith forward tutorial or white paper about relationships in OPPID drawings?
Thanks for the info, I'll definitly work through the links you gave.
Is there a way to quickly find out what relations there are connected to an element? In pspid I had the "query" tool after processing where I could see the relationships and the connected objects, but in OPPID I can't find a similar tool.
ECRelationship Definition in Wiki: http://communities.bentley.com/products/plant/design___engineering/w/plant_design_and_engineering__wiki/ecrelationship-definition.aspx
The closest example document I can find is on creating a new associated document is communities.bentley.com/.../143134.aspx.
There is also a document database relationships: http://communities.bentley.com/products/plant/design___engineering/w/plant_design_and_engineering__wiki/plant-project-database-relationship-mapping.aspx
Examine the OpenPlant_PID_Lists.01.0?.ecschema.xml file and specifically the RELATIONSHIP_CLASS_MAPPING_LIST class. This class shows how OPPID creates certain types of relationships.
In OPPID use the Conformance Tools to create relationships on the fly.
good evening,
I am looking for a guideline to create relations between classes in OPPID. Is there some kind of whitepaper about that topic?
