Overview

To output branch lines with reduced half coupling in OpenPlant Modeler.

Problem Description

With the use of Specification generator, user wanted to update branch table with half coupling and wanted to get it picked up by branch table during placement in Modeler. By default only equal size half coupling gets placed. For Reduced size half coupling user need to perform below steps to get branch table for automatic placement.

Steps to Resolve

  1. Launch Specification Generator. Open spec, say mA1_OPM here.

  2. From Main menu, go to “Tools”, and launch Branch Code editor. See below.

  3. Assign code “HC” for Half coupling from the code list. See below.

  4. From Main menu, go to ‘Tools’, and launch Branch Table editor.

  5. Assign HC code for Same size B/H and assign RT (reducing Tee) for dissimilar size B/H say DN100 XDN80, DN100XDN50 etc. See image below.

  6. Save spec.

  7. From Spec database folder, open mdb file through MS Access. And select “Auto_Tee” table. See image below.

  8. Rename the EC Class Name for PIPE_REDUCING_TEE_BRANCH to HALF_COUPLING. See image below.

  9. Launch OpenPlant Modeler.

  10. Select modified spec in standard preferences dialog. Place header of size DN100.

  11. Enable ‘Auto Branch Table’. Select reducing size DN50 and place it on header. See image below.

  12. It will pick the half coupling. See images below.
