Problem Description

In OpenPlant Specification Generator, catalog editor shows multiple duplicate records for a component size however in access database for that particular component it shows only one record.

Pipe records showing in Microsoft Access Database

Notice that for Pipe with above filtering constraints there is a single record.

Pipe records showing in Catalog Editor.

With same filtering parameter in catalog editor it shows 22 records

Steps to Resolve

  1. Navigate to Catalogs Databases folder of specific project, here metric project.

Folder path for default project : C:\ProgramData\Bentley\OpenPlantModelerV8i\WorkSpace\Projects\OPModeler_Metric\DataSet\Catalogs Databases

  2. Open your catalog in Microsoft access database. Open CatalogTables table as shown below.

Note: Fundamental Knowledge of Microsoft Access is required

  3. Filter CatalogTableName field with Pipe records. Notice that PIPE shows 22 records, thus multiplying each single pipe record to 22 times and creating duplicate records in catalog editor.

  4. In CatalogTables section there should be only one record for each class. Delete all PIPE records except one as shown below.

  5. Similarly delete all unnecessary records for different classes. Save database.

  6. Open the corrected access database in catalog editor, notice that records show same as per record in access database.
