Overview

This TechNote describes an interim solution for circumventing a known but unresolved issue in AutoPLANT Data Manager versions 8.6 and 8.9.

ERROR: "Data Manager is not able to find the object Equipment List 3", followed by "Item not found in this collection".

If you receive an error message regarding Data Manager not being able to find the object 'Equipment List3" or "Item not found in this collection," it is most likely due to the ‘pointer' between the project.mdb and the schema.mdb becoming corrupt. This issue will cause the Data Manager application to freeze when opening the affected project. To re-build the link between the two databases, complete the following steps:

  1. Log everyone out of the project to verify exclusive rights to the database.
  2. Create a new blank Access database.
  3. Name the new database schema1.mdb and save it in the \PROJDATA\ folder.
  4. Open schema1.mdb, right click in the white area of the main dialog and select IMPORT.
  5. Browse to the original schema.mdb and import all objects to schema1.mdb. Import the queries, import the tables, import the modules, import the macros, etc.
  6. Create a new blank Access database and name it project1.mdb.
  7. Open project1.mdb, right click in the white area of the main dialog and select IMPORT.
  8. Browse to the original project.mdb and import all objects to schema1.mdb. Again, import the queries, import the tables, import the modules, import the macros, etc.
  9. Rename schema.mdb to schema.old.
  10. Rename schema1.mdb to schema.mdb.
  11. Rename project.mdb to project.old.
  12. Rename project1.mdb to project.mdb.
  13. Open Data Manager and test views and reports thoroughly.
