  • Pottsk,

Here is a few more things for you to try: Right out of the ProjectWise help file assuming you are in V8i, do a search for idesktop this is from the 'Office Integration Notes see if this helps you out.

To disable ProjectWise iDesktop Integration with a specific Microsoft Office application, you can:

modify the ProjectWise Explorer installation through Add \ Remove Programs and turn off integration with the specific application

(Office 2007 only) in the application itself, go to Options > Add-Ins > Comm Add-ins, and turn off the ProjectWise add-in

open your Windows Registry Editor and remove the ODMA32 subkey for each integrated application as noted in the following table

  • These are the steps that I have taken when I referred to uninstalling the integration for Office 2007.  It shows that it is disabled for Word but it still has full control over Word and Excel.  I'm not sure what steps to take next without uninstalling Projectwise Explorer all together.
  • Hi Pottsk,

this technically starts a new thread however here are the steps that should help you out:

    "Un-integrate" a application with ProjectWise Explorer :

    1. Open Control Panel > Add or Remove Programs > Scroll down to 'ProjectWise Explorer V8 XM Edition' or 'ProjectWise Explorer V8i': click Change button
    2. In The Setup Wizard window Click Next > Program Maintenance window select Modify : click Next
    3. Expand by clicking on '+' left of iDesktop Intergration > Expand Microsoft Office > Left click on Microsoft Word > select the red X 'This feature will not be avaliable' > Click Next, Install, and Finish.

  • I have a problem with Idesktops Integration with Office 2007.  We are using projectwise for our CAD documents but Idesktop forced itself into Office 2007. I have uninstalled the integration for Office 2007 but it continues to work and I am not sure how to disable it completely so my users can begin using Office 2007 without the Projectwise integration.  The users were working fine and several machines enabled the integration about the same time.  Any assistance or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
