  • Thank you all for the Help and advice given,

I believed  after I peformed a clean removal of all InterPlot files, re-installed Interplot Oganizer v8i and rebooted the server machine that had InterPlot Server, is when I was able to print and preview my design files inside IPLOT Client v8i. I am currently printing and previewing with success.

Thanks Again to all that replied,

    S. Evans

  • Plotting from a newer client (8.11.05.08) to an older server (08.09.04.62) is not supported. You must upgrade the PW InterPlot Server to V8i before upgrading your clients to PW InterPlot Organizer V8i.
  • I have been looking at all sorts of iPlot "things" recently. I have the same versions as you running...

One thing to check is the what microstation version you are using as the iplot print engine for your V8i Iplot client. If you setup a V8i workstation then you may have Microstation V8i installed and this will probably set Microstation V8i as the print engine by defult (=good but) I do not believe you can use a V8i iplot client with a V8i Micostation Iplot engine with an XM Iplot print server.

If you change the iplot engine on your V8i Iplot client to Microstation XM 08.09.04.51 or 04.88 then you can submit plots to an XM based Iplot server - I have this setup working.

Be aware some issues with iplot printing exist in Microstation XM so installing the V8i Client with an XM Print engine will not solve all the issues that a move to V8i server and V8i client and V8i Microstation would offer - I tested it...

I could be wrong but this is something that is easy to check or change.

I am hoping to setup a V8i iPlot server soon.

    Best Regards,

    Ian Emery.

  • I don't recall this specific error message, but you might try running IPLOT from the command line using a Command Prompt window to see if it also works correctly or if it possibly returns additional error information.

From the Command Prompt window you would change your directory to the location where the IPLOT Iparm (.i) files are located and then you should be able to issue the command iplot preview iparmname.i to verify that preview functions correctly.

If you continue to experience this error, the best way to address this issue would be to open a Service Ticket and work directly with one of the Plotting Technical Support Group team to resolve this matter .

  • Hi Bentley,

I'm looking for some help and Thanks to all that give suggestions.

My problem is this, I work for a cad company that is using InterPlot Server 08.09.04.62 with InterPlot Client 08.09.04.62 and everything is working good. So, now that the new version of InterPlot Organizer is release I have tried testing the new InterPlot Client V8i (08.11.05.08) on a Vista OS machine, with the older XM version of InterPlot Server 08.09.04.62 that is on a Win 2003 machine. Interplot Organizer is working good previews and plot my design files and with IPLOT Client inside MicroStation v8i will print but will not Preview my design file; when I try to Preview in IPLOT Client I get the error message "CMDRR, cannot exeute C:\win32app\ingr\ipshare\clntutil\bin\ipsumbit -No Error".

Has anyone ever seen or dealt with this error message before, if so, how can I fix this issue?

    Thanks again.
