Hello Ian,
I did some checking and confirmed that REGISTER=0 will not have any affect on the installers.
Jeff
I'm not sure if REGISTER=0 will do anything. I never tried it. I'll check into it and get back to you.
Dear Jeff,
Does this imply that passing REGISTER=0 will prevent microstation (v8i) or bentley view (v8i) or projetwise navigator (XM/V8i) from becoming the primary installation.
We have issues with the order of installation for our managed software we cannot be sure bentley view will be installed last.
We want bentley view to be the primary installation for a large group of users that also has microstation installed.
Best Regards,
Ian Emery
Hello,
For MicroStation you can pass the register switch on the command line. The same should work for Bentley View
e.g. $(path)\View.msi REGISTER=1
I am trying to deploy View 8.11.07.80 as part of iPlot 8.11.05.43.
I hope to extract the iPlot package and replace the view.msi found their with the view.msi found in the 8.11.7.8 download.
When I run the install for view from its exe (for 8.11.07.8) I can extract and install, which has a checkbox option to register the app as the primary app. I want to check that box.
However, I need to do an unattended install. Once I have extracted the files, how to I enable the primary app option? Is there a command to pass to the MSI or can I make a registry change?
