Overview

Sometimes when trying to assign a part to a red-colored Detail Style, for example with drag and drop, the assignment is not possible.

This is because the red-colored Detail Styles are restricted styles, they can only be used by the corresponding part type or view type. In the above image, the shape (Single Part) cannot be assigned to the Group Detail Style. Either we needs to load a Single part style or unlock this Group style.

So, this wiki will be going to explain how to unlock the restricted detail style limits so that they can be used for all other parts.

Steps to be follow

Please follow the below steps to unlock the restricted detail style.

1. Right-click on the red-colored Detail Style and then click on the Edit Style.

2. In the Detail Style dialog, click on the last (i.e. 6th) button to unlock the Detail Style limits so that they can be used for all other parts.

Note: When we restrict the Detail Style, the Style Class Symbol gets greyed out and at the bottom right corner it shows the information on which parts this style is restricted under the Default Settings > Common.

3. Once we unlock the Detail Style, the red color will disappear and the Style Class Symbol gets activated under the Default Settings > Common.

In this way, we can unlock the restricted Detail Style and can easily assign any parts to this style.
