How To Display Design Lifts On Low Rail

Hi all

I was hoping someone could help me work out how I can display the design lifts from my new vertical alignment.

So far i have done the following:-

 - I have created an existing center line from a track.

 - I have designed the horizontal & vertical center line.

 - I have applied cant to the center line.

What I now need to do is work out the lifts on the low rail.

All I can display through the Annotate Profile command are the lifts of the center line, but what i need is to display the lifts on the low rail?

Can anyone explain how I can show the design lifts on the low rail (in my case Left Rail)?

Mnay Thanks

  • Hi Stewart,

I see there may be two options for your task:
    1. You can create rails from the CL by using "View Geometry > Rails..." and import them as alignments for annotation
    2. In Project Options / Rail tab change the "Rotate Cant About:" to Inside Rail (lower rail) - this will shift the Proposed vertical alignment from CL to the lower rail - an advantage from this approach is that you'll not need to lower a existing track, if you have redesign the cant.

    Best regards,
