Power Rail Regression Report Help.

Power Rail Regression Report Help.

Hi all

I was hoping if someone could shed some light on the following:-

I am currently using Power Rail V08.11.07.685 and what i am struggling with is Annotating the my profile to show the existing Track Gauge. I have been told that i can run a report from Tools/XML Reports/Regression, but i am still struggling can some one help?

In the Regression Report menu what does Horizontal refer to? I am assuming that it is referring to either the existing or design Horizontal Center Line can someone confirm? I have tried to press the Help button but it does not work for some reason.

Is there anyway of controlling the number of decimal places from the output from the Regression Report.  In the example to the right I want chainage to be set as 0 decimal places, Horizontal Design Six-Foot to be set as 2 decimal places - But there are no settings in the Regression Report Dialogue box to makes these changes unlike Annotate Profile.

I have been fighting with this for the last week or so and i really need to complete this for my college assignment.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

PS: iI have attached a screen shot which may help.

Thanks

  • Horizontal is the center line alignment.

Precision is controled by Project > Options > Precision (i.e. stationing and linear precision)

Size of the row is a function of the Title Text on the Symbology tab.

As far as reports, use the ones in Geometry and start with SixFoot in the style sheet name.

  • Hi Richard

For reasons I cannot explain the help button does not work on the Regression Report menu. Is there any chance you can email me a PDF copy of just that help section?

On a similar note is it possible to display the existing Gauge using the Regression Report menu, the reason why I want to use the regression menu and not the XML reports is because the Regression Report menu allows me to display the values on the screen similar to annotate profile.

    Any thoughts?
  • Tracks Tab (Regression Report

    Before Using This Command

    Load a geometry project.

    Dialog Box Options

    Left Side Track (Optional)

    Horizontal is a design centerline.

Right Rail is an existing geometry that defines the existing rail, as such these are limited to alignments that are line-strings.

    Control Track

    Horizontal is a design centerline.

Left Rail is an existing geometry that defines the existing rail, as such these are limited to alignments that are line-strings.

Right Rail is an existing geometry that defines the existing rail, as such these are limited to alignments that are line-strings.

    Include Regression Points

specifies that the XML report data file will contain information about the egression points from the Control Track horizontal regression buffer.

    Interval

adds additional points, called computed event points, to the XML report data file. If you provide a value greater than 0.0 in the key-in field, the software computes points along each Selected alignment. On each alignment, the computed points are separated by a distance equal to the specified Interval. The computed points are added to the XML report data file.

    Limits

    Station

limits the reported information based on the specified Start and Stop station values. The Limits are along the Control Track. When this toggle is not selected, the report covers the entire length of all specified alignments.

Note: Limits are useful when you are reporting on a single alignment.

    Start

designates the station at which to begin reporting. This field is used only if the Station parameter is turned on.

    Stop

designates the station at which to end reporting. This field is used only if the Station parameter is turned on.

    Right Side Track (Optional)

    Horizontal is a design centerline.

Left Rail is an existing geometry that defines the existing rail, as such these are limited to alignments that are line-strings.

Several style sheets are included look for the Geometry/SixFoot*.xsl’s. These require that the Left Side and Right Side geometries are both defined (horizontal and rails).

A Geometry/Lifts&Lowers.xsl has been included that only uses the data defined in the Control Track group box.
