BRT SS4 Version

It is noticed that in Bentley Rail Track V08.11.09.845 (SS4) , my design element bearings are showing wrong values if the element comes in third quadrant, and also noticed that Project Option/ Geometry dialog box Angular Mode is not active, in this version.  I am getting two different bearings if I open an ALG file in SS2 version and SS4 version even though I use the same preference file for Project Options.

And also noticed that, tool bar symbol for Vertical change in plan has been modified in the SS4 version, the same symbol had used for switch height plan function in SS2 version

Can you also guide me, how can I create an existing rail surface from an imported survey alignment in SS4 version, I used to utilise the express modeller function in SS2 ( with a simple template) to create the same. I understand that, Modeller function is not the part of BRT window in SS4, do I need to use the Open Roads functionality of SS4 for this purpose? .

Many Thanks In advance

  • SS4 is using Settings>Design File, so check the angular setting there.
I didn't see any change in the toolbar for the vertical change in plan command
Yes you have to use the OpenRoads functionnalities to create a corridor.
You need a civil geometry. Then you just have to select it to get an immersive toolbar where you can pick Create Corridor.
Just follow the prompt to enter all required data. Data are almost the same than in SS2 but not presented the same way. And of course the corridor is automatically updated with the alignment.
You have a command in General Geometry to import from your alg or even from the memory.
Depending on the feature definition associated with the civil geometry the ALG can be updated/created automatically based on the civil geometry.
The Project Explorer, basic MicroStation feature, helps you to explore the project or the standards (feature definition).
