Transition Lines as straight lines - Delete set of Elements

Hi,

I had imported a Horizontal geometry graphically with transitions using Import -> geometry wizard. The transitions are added as bits of straight lines. I had also tried checking the box "All selected elements added to single Alignment" option. The entire element gets imported on selecting the alignment poly line. The transitons are imported as pieces of straight lines. And its taking lot of time to delete each unwanted element. Is there any easy way either to import the geometry properly ( transitions as transitions), or import only the straights and curves and ignore transition portions, or delete the transition portions easily.

  • For sure if the transition is unknown type of element in the polyline, Rail Track can't assume where it starts where it ends. Sure we can imagine a tolerance that could control it in some way but it would not be 100% safe.
The issue here is to be able to easily select straights and arcs. Because it is a single polyline I guess you can't do it by using a combination of level name and type of elements.
1- You can select only straights and arcs from your original graphics: select them, then use the import geometry and all elements in a single alignment, then fill all gaps with a spiral. The spiral command in Horizontal Elements can do it in once.
2- You can't select only straights and arcs from the original.
a/ import the whole polyline and use Check Integrity to select all short straights that are part of a transition. Using CTRL/SHIFT for your selection. Fill the gaps with a spiral.
b/ Drop the polyline and import geometry manually, all elements to single alignment, picking all elements straight and arc only from the beginning to the end of the alignment. Fill the gaps with a spiral.
