Errors installing the program ..

"Computer specs:
Intel Core I5 2400 CPU @3.10ghz 3.30ghz
 8Gb RAM
 GeForce 8400GS HDD 500Gb.

I installed Bentley Railtrack V8i version 08.11.07.615, Everything goes ok during installation, no error or alert messages are shown,
but when I try to run Bentley Railtrack or Bentley Railtrack Suite , nothing happens.(The MicroStation Application run well).
I tried to run with different users (admin privileges and normal user) on 2 different machines, with no success. No error messages are shown.
Windows 7 Professional version 6.1 64 bits, Build 7601 Service Pack 1. What should I do?
We bought a copy of the software and cannot use it, there are projects idle because of that.

Thanks"

  • Hello,

nothing to notice according to the computer.

Nothing happens means it doesn't launch anything ?

If Microstation is running fine, could you try to load the CivUstAT.ma from Utilities>MDL Application (C:\Program Files (x86)\Bentley\Bentley Rail Track V8.11\bin)

Could you also check that the file RailTrackAT.cfg does exist in folder C:\Program Files (x86)\Bentley\MicroStation V8i (SELECTseries)\MicroStation\config\appl ?

    Best Regards

  • Hello,

thanks for answering. Yes after all the setup process the program simple doesn't open , nothing appears on screen.

***  when I tried to load the CivUstAT.ma on Microstation , this warning appears :

"Unable to track file -> C:\program~2\bentley\bentle~1.11\data\civil.xin through access manager . the file resides on a read-only share or directory and will be opened read only "

*** And the file RailtrackAt.cfg doesn't exist in this folder!

    thanks again!

  • If the file C:\Program Files (x86)\Bentley\Bentley Rail Track V8.11/bin/config/RailTrackCommon.cfg does not exist it means that something really went wrong during the installation. I would suggest to uninstall BRT and reinstall, if not already done.

But according a previous message, it looks to work if launching MS then BRT using MDL Load, correct ?

  • Hehe Thanks for all the support , after reinstalling the BRT it worked well...

    Thanks again!!!

  • I'm experiencing this problem with the latest version of BRT (08.11.07.685). I've had this on 3 computers now and although a reinstall worked on the first 2 the 3rd computer is simply refusing to work.
I'm going to re-download the installation files and see if that's the issue, but I doubt it.
  • Korbs,
Un-install BRT through Control Panel > Programs and Features.
In Windows Explorer, navigate to C:\Program Files (x86)\Bentley\ and delete the RailTrack (or something similar) folder.
Still in Windows Explorer, navigate to C:\Program Files (x86)\Bentley\MicroStation V8i (SELECTseries)\MicroStation\config\appl\ and delete the RailTrackAT.cfg file if it is still there.
    Now reboot your machine.
If you have something like CCLeaner, go ahead and run the Registry cleaner and you may want to do that twice. I would also run the Cleaner part of it also; you never know how much junk is out there. Don’t have CCleaner, use All Programs > Accessories > System Tools > Disk Cleanup.
Check to make sure MicroStation starts (it should) and then exit MicroStation and then install BRT.
If you still are having problems, give Bentley Support a call.

    This is a test

  • Hi Art

I followed this, and unfortunately this did not resolve the issue.

On a whim more than anything I ran through the process a 2nd time, but fully un-installed Microstation V8i as well.

After re-installing both products it appears to have fixed the problem.

As a quick note on the background to this issue when I originally updated to this version of Railtrack I had, at the same time, updated Microstation V8i to the latest version as well.

    Thanks
