LandXml file importing in to BRT

Hi All,

What is the best way to import the LandXml file of a site survey in to the Bentley Rail Track effectiveley.

The problems I am facing is , LandXml file has more 50 features, and there is no option in XML translation command to map the XML  feature style to corresponding style in Bentley Rail Track. The only way I could find, manually change the style set in feature properties command once I imported the LandXml file as Surface file in BRT.

Looking for an easy solution to this problem

Many Thanks

  • Hi,

    I have right now the same issue with XML features coming from a civil design software (Mensura). As you get, there is plenty features on the XML file. Finally, did you find a way to use these XML data avoiding to change the name or the properties of these features? If not, could you tell how you managed this issue.

    Thanks in advance for your feedback,
    Etienne
  • Defining a feature / style / code was totally overlooked by LandXML.org when the schema was defined. Various software vendors worked around it by defining a LandXML Feature (and that feature is not a style!).
    <Feature code="Alignment">
    <Property label="style" value="default"/>
    </Feature>
    But unless that LandXML feature was agreed between vendors, it would be skipped.

    So there is no good answer, accept to use the receiving software's functionality to amend the data.
