CONNECTION EVENT CHENNAI – Transportation Forum

I’m looking forward to making my second visit to India in six months when I travel to Chennai for amongst other things, the Transportation Forum at our CONNECTION event on June 9th and 10th 2015.

We’re excited about this, the first opportunity to introduce our upcoming CONNECT Edition’s of MicroStation, ProjectWise and Navigator in India, and look during the morning of day one, at how they will transform Project Delivery in a way you may never have thought was possible.

After lunch, our focus switches, when my colleagues and I dig deeper into road, rail, bridge and land development industries, plus technology to support them in the Transportation Forum. We are also very fortunate to be joined at this event by representatives from Rites Ltd, who will share with attendees their experience of adopting Bentley’s OpenRoads Technology.

During my presentation, I will take the opportunity to look at some of the challenges facing our industry currently, including increased pressure on owner-operators and the supply chain to deliver projects faster and more sustainably, but to tighter budgets and with less exposure to risk.

Then, as I think it is the most significant global trend in our industry currently, I will take a look at Building Information Modelling or BIM. I hope, exploding some of the myths that surround it, before looking at its growth in popularity and acceptance around the world, asking the question, are we witnessing a BIM revolution or simply evolution of our industry as technology and standards progress?

Personally, I think it is a case of when and not if BIM will be adopted widely on transportation projects in India, so I hope that you will join me to;

  • Learn how desktop design and analysis, on-premise servers, cloud-services and mobile apps enable Information Mobility and take integrated project delivery to a different level

  • Discover how Bentley’s AssetWise platform is enabling classification, collection and inspection of transportation asset information throughout the entire asset lifecycle

  • Investigate the application of BIM on leading international projects, and take away lessons learned that could transform the way you work
