Training material/excercise/files missing

I have power rail track installed on my mechine,

Q 1) I am trying to learn templates using the excercises in help notes but they use the training files (drawing, templates, excercises) ( i guess they were not included during installation), Is there any way i can get those files ?

Q 2) I am learning from another template a colleague made some time ago and when that template is loaded with constraints option ticked on it looks like fig 1 with blue lines(constraints) but when components is ticked on it does not show any components. So can you have constraints with no components ? and there is no point at intersection of two constraints, how do u explain this.

Thanks in advance

Maz

  • Hello,

    1) You need to purchase Bentley Training to get the exercise dataset.

    2) Yes you can have points without any component. They are named NULL POINTS. They have the same properties than others. They can be used for testing or other purpose, like the position of the rails.

You can check for components and points of your current template using the toggle on the left Library/current Template. When on current template you can explore the content of your current template.

If there is a component and it doesn't appear, it can be a problem of style assigned to the component. Check the component properties. Styles are coming from the XIN file. The XIN file and the template library must match to get good result.

  • I'm sorry but I could not find how is the process of purchasing the training. On the website they only show the learning paths for the online tutorials. Where exactly can I find those files?

    Thank you.
  • Trainings must be purchased through your Bentley account manager.

If your subscription includes the access to the learn server, then you can benefit of the full content.

There are 3 types of training: instructor led, Hands on and lectures.

    Instructor led: live remote training

Hands on means you can do the training when you want based on a manual and dataset.

    Lectures are videos

So you can donwload a dataset when accessing Hands on training:
