When importing a CIS/2 file (.stp file) into STAAD.Pro, I am getting a message "Part/21 file does not contain any analysis model. Terminating import ...". Can you suggest what to do ?

 

There are three types of CIS/2 files: Manufacturing, Design, Analysis. These are characterized by the type of entities present in the file, which are as listed below:

Analysis - contain ELEMENT entities
Design - contain DESIGN_PART entities
Manufacturing - contain LOCATED_PART entities

Out of these three, STAAD can only import analysis type CIS/2 files. If you try to import a CIS/2 file that contain Design or Manufacturing related data, you will encounter a message “Part/21 file does not contain any analysis model. Terminating import ..”. So the solution would be to get an analysis type CIS/2 file.
