I am trying to use the Cross Section Labeling tool within the Geopak Corridor Modeling tool, but as soon as I press the button, I get this error:
After I click the buttons, it obviously won't work. I think this error may somehow be related to installing Geopak SS3. Before I installed that, the tool was working. I am trying to use this tool while in MS 8.11.09.397 and GPK 8.11.07.566.
I didn't think installing GPK SS3 next to (different installation folders) would cause issues, but I can't think what else it would be. I have tried using the tool with different workspaces with no luck. There are others in the office that can use the tool, but they don't have GPK SS3 installed.
Any ideas how to remedy this? I prefer not to have to uninstall GPK SS3, but if I am unable to use the tool in SS2, I will have to.
Thanks,
Ken
Hi kcaitch,
You should be able to get the VBA working again in SS2 by re-executing the “geopakcom.exe” file in the SS2 /bin directory.
Kevin
Thanks for the quick reply Kevin. Do I have to have admin rights on my machine to run this? I ran it without admin rights and it didn't change anything,
You could also try the following but you do need to have full control set in your user privleges
1.) Close all DGN files
2.) Bring up the dos prompt and change directory ("cd") to the following location (may be slightly different on your computer):
cd C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Bentley Shared\GEOPAK\
3.) Key-In "REGSVR32 BentleyControls.ocx" and press Enter.
You should get a message "DllRegistryServer in BentleyControls.ocx succeeded"
4.) Now exit the dos prompt, go back into your DGN file and try again

Update: I was given admin rights by my IT department, and then I tried to run the .EXE that you mentioned, Kevin, but it didn't fix it. When I click on the tool, it looks like it begins to install something, but it fails. I also tried the other suggested fix (going through DOS), but it said that is could not do something to the REG. IT uninstalled SS3 and reinstalled SS2, but still no dice. Not sure what is up.
can you open the labeler in other computers? with the same project and gpk?
