Modeling lifting lug reinforcement pad on flat plate

hi, all

i am a newbie to staadpro, my client want us to do the FEA on the lifting lug reinforcement pad for a pressure vessel,any body can tell me how to modelling the reinforcement pad on the flat cover? the flat cover size is 210x210x31.75mm thk, the reinforcement pad size is 60x150x12.7mm thk while the lifting lug size is 80x85x12.7mm thk.

  • You would probably get some valuable modeling ideas from the attached document.  It was prepared to give some modeling tips for a stiffened base plate, but some of the principles are probably applicable to your situation.

    i went through the materials, but i think this one is different from my case. my case is two parallel plate welding together in stead of perpendicular plates. Can you tell me how to modeling two parallel plate welding together? another issue, how to modeling two parallel beams at the same point.
