DWG to DGN and the default level

DWG to DGN and the
Default Level
When you convert a DWG to DGN, the
default
level is replaced by the DWG default layer called
0
(zero).
Since this is now the default level, it will behave as such:
All new levels will inherit thier properties from it.
You won't be able to delete it.
You won't be able to rename it to
Default
, and...
You won't be able to create a level called
Default
To essentially "replace" the level called
0
with one called
Default
, try this funky workflow:
Create a new temporary level.
Use this keyin to move any elements from
0
to the temporaty level:
level element move dest:temp 0
Create a new DGN file.
Reference the translated drawing into your new DGN file.
From the Reference dialog, select
Tools > Merge into Master.
All of the information will be copied into your new file - except for level
0
and the
Default
level will now be the default.
