Users of MBS software have traditionally stretched the usage of MBS as much as possible when designing more complex buildings. Sooner or later; however, a substantial part of the building has to be designed and drawn, by hand using drafting tools such as AutoCAD.
The MBS Extension Toolkit module for ProSteel 3D allows users to read the MBS project data files and generate an equivalent intelligent model in ProSteel 3D. Once the 3D model is created, the users can use the full power of ProSteel 3D to manipulate and enhance the 3D model in order to complete the project at hand. Some of ProSteel 3D advantages include:
In addition, ProSteel can also be configured to handle special requirements such as custom connections, communication with roll formers etc.
Some sample connections available in this package are shown below:
Flex Beam is a Custom ProSteel 3D object created specifically for the modeling of tapered assemblies with varying splices of inner and outer flanges as well as webs. In near future, Flex Beam objects will incorporate analysis lines and equivalent joint and element calculations for the purpose of communicating with Analysis.
Flexbeam objects can be manually assembled to create complete rigid frames. Interior hot rolled columns can be manually added using standard Prosteel objects. Stiffeners and Connection plate gussets can be added to Flexbeam object
FlexBeam object allows modeling of three-plate tapered assemblies of arbitrary shapes
Database of Z shapes, C studs and bent plates including Eave struts are included
