An opportunity to win a trip to Amsterdam, alone, is enough reason to submit your work to the Be Inspired Awards competition. I've had the pleasure of attending the 2010 and 2011 events in Amsterdam and I've fallen in love with this quaint city. There is so much to do and see from museums to restaurants and great shopping! The Hotel Okura that hosted our 2010 and 2011 events was luxurious and beautiful; this year our 2012 conference will take place at the historic NH Grand Hotel Krasnopolsky. The hotel is conveniently located right on the central Dam Square where you'll be only footsteps from major tourist and business attractions including the Royal Palace, Nieuwe Kerk, Anne Frank House, Van Gogh museum, Heineken Brewery, the main transportation hub - Centraal Station, and much more!

Amsterdam has so much to offer, just submit your project to the competition and you could fall in love with Amsterdam too!

Here are a few of my Amsterdam favorite things (sung to the Sound of Music "Favorite Things"):

Poffertjes

A traditional Dutch batter treat resembling small fluffy pancakes. Unlike American pancakes, they have a light, spongy texture. Typically served with powdered sugar and butter, yum!

Anne Frank Museum

I've always had an interest in the history of the Holocaust, so visiting the Anne Frank House was a no brainer and it was so worth it! This interactive museum is a must!

Beadies

This is one of my first stops every year. Perhaps more for the ladies or the gents who have to buy a gift for the special lady in their life, Beadies allows you to custom make your own beaded jewelry, buy loose beads, or purchase an already created accessory. A great take home gift that is not your typical Tchotchke.

Canals

The canals are beautiful!  Rent a bike for the full experience, but watch out they cycle fast!

People

Most importantly, Be Inspired allows you to network and meet so many people from all walks of life, including having fun with your colleagues:)

Cheers!
