How to configure your ProjectWise environment for working with ProStructures SELECTseries 6 to SELECTseries 8

 

Prerequisites

ProjectWise Explorer V8i >= SELECTseries 3        (SELECTseries 4 recommended)

 

ProStructures V8i >= Power Product usage >= SELECTseries 6, SELECTseries 7, SELECTseries 7+, SELECTseries 8

 

Access to a ProjectWise datasource

·         Optional:

ProjectWise Administrator V8i >= SELECTseries 3 (SELECTseries 4 recommended) (if you want to create the applications described in the following section)

 

 

Datasource settings (in ProjectWise Administrator):

If using the Power product of ProStructures and working with dgn-files. The following ProStructures entries are to be added (if not existing) in the list of the “Applications” (be careful with typing!):

 

 

 

Create new application as "ProStructures V8i PowerProduct".

 

Power ProStructures needs an Action of type “Open” with the following properties: 

 

 

Advanced option needs "Program class name" as "Bentley.ProStructures.Application". Note, no command line argument is required.     

 

                                                                                      

 

Run PsPWConfigurator.exe (as administrator) from PRG folder of ProStructures installation:

 

 

Select the CAD program you want to use with ProStructures and that should be started from ProjectWise when opening a ProStructures document. Then click “Update Configuration”, if some configuration step lines are in red color. After that, both lines should be in green color (if not, please check your rights to change system variables)

 

 

Optional: Click “Export seed files to ProjectWise” to transfer ProStructures seed files into a project of your ProjectWise data source. These seed files can be used later for creating a new ProStructures document from wizard.

 

Step 1: choose the seed files you want to export to ProjectWise:

 

 

Step 2: Select the ProjectWise project to copy the seed files in:

 

 

 Now you should be able to create a new document of Application “ProStructures (Power Product)”:

 

 

When opening the newly created document, the correct version of Power ProStructures should be started automatically with this document.

In-between the started application ProStructures documents could be created in a similar way after starting the “New”-command:
