The calculation of beta-w was taken as 1.0 for all section classifications. This has been updated to use a calculated beta-w as per clause 4.3.6.9 A) 02 The AISC 360-05 design module has been updated for design of rolled wide flange sections when h/Tw > 2.24*sqrt(E/fy), Cv was set to 1.0, Phi = 0.9 and Omega = 1.67. This has been changed so that it now follows the provisions of section G2(b). A) 03 The AIJ steel design module has been updated to ensure that when checking for maximum moments and determining stresses, the values are based on the full value rather than the integer version of the numbers which had been used previously. A) 04 The AASHTO LRFD design module has been updated in correcting the calculation of bending moment capacity for tube sections. The correction was done in the implementation of equation 6.12.2.2.2-1 A) 05 The Indian steel design code IS800:20007 has been updated to ensure the classification of wide flange sections under pure axial load is reported as slender when the semi-compact limit is exceeded. A) 06 The scope of adding cover plates to standard wide flange sections has been enhanced. It is now possible to define cover plates of different dimensions on the top and bottom of the profile by using a TB parameter. (see What's New section AD.2007-09.1.1). Additionally it is now possible to define a different material to the top flange cover plate of a wide Flange user table section using a modular ratio. (see section AD.2007-09.1.2 for more details) A) 07 The IBC 2006 loading module has been updated to ensure that if an input of 'x' has not been specified, then this was taken as 0 which would create potentially conservative results. It is now taken as a default value of 0.75 in calculating Ta. A) 08 The IS 1893 seismic provisions have been enhanced with IS1893 Part 4, 2005 A) 09 The Eurocode 3 steel design module EN1993-1-1 has been enhanced with the Malaysian National Annex. See What's New section AD.2007-09.3.3 for more information. A) 10 The Soft Storey Check in the IS 1893 code has been enhanced with a number of lateral stiffness calculations where the model includes rigid diaphragm definitions. See What's New AD.2007.09.2.3 for more details. A) 11 A new command PRINT STOREY DRIFT ** (where ** is a fraction such as 0.002) has been added to allow checking of the relative displacement between floors as a fraction of the height between the floors. See What's New AD.2007.09.2.4 for more details. A) 12 The IS 8000:2007 design module has been updated to allow the design of the new star arrangement of angle sections. See What's New section AD.2007-09.3.4 for details of the design of angles in a star arrangement. A) 13 The IS 8000-1984 steel design code has been updated to implement clause 3.5.2 for determining the section classification of wide flange sections. A) 14 A new print command has been added to help identify the centre of mass and rigidity of each floor on a multi floor model which can then be used in calculating the accidental torsion if included in a number of building codes. See What's New section AD.2007-09.2.1 for more information. A) 15 The program has been updated to allow the specification of standard angle profiles to be aligned in a star formation using an SA parameter. A) 16 The range of steel design codes has been enhanced with the AISC 360-10 code. See What's New section AD.2007-09.3.1 for more details. A) 17 Than range of concrete design codes has been enhanced with the addition of the 2008 version of the API 318 code. See What's New section AD.2007-09.3.2 for more information. A) 18 A new feature has been added to include the effect of horizontal torsion for rigid floor diaphragms in the equivalent static seismic analysis routines. See Whats New setion AD.2007-09.2.2 for more details A) 19 The ouptut for an AISC 360-05 design has been updated to display only the section classifications of webs and flanges as used in the design. Where only one classification is reported, that is what has been used to classify the overall section. A) 20 The AISC 360-05 design of tee sections cut from standard wide flanges has been improved to ensure that the section classification determines a suitable value of bending capacity. A) 21 The analysis engine has been updated to improve the RIGID DIAPHRAGM routine to calculate the centre of gravity of the diaphragm when a cordinate is specified by a master node. (B) Issues addressed in the Pre-Processing Mode (03) B) 01 The Response Spectrum dialog for the IBC 2006 seismic load has been updated removing the 'Scale' parameter which is only used in a custom response spectrum definition. The Technical Ref manual has also been updated to remove this from the definition. B) 02 The Load definition page has been updated to ensure that the correct UI is displayed for defining the equivalent static seismic loading as per the Chinese seismic code. B) 03 The internal data processing of the list of material definition assignment has been improved to address a limitation in the Microsoft module used to manage this. The limitation would result in some material assignments being removed from the data file when resaved from the GUI and thus preventing a successful analysis from being performed. (C) Issued Addressed in the Post-Processing Mode (00) (None) (D) Issues Addressed in the Steel Design Mode (00) (None) (E) Issues Addressed in the Concrete Design Mode (01) E) 01 The IS456 concrete beam design routine has been improved for doubally reinforced members which previously caused a crash when designing the shear. (F) Issues Addressed in the RAM Connection Mode (02) F) 01 The RAM Connection module has been updated to improve the logic in validating chevron and X braces. F) 02 The RAM Connection module has been updated to ensure Japanese sections can be used. I) 02 The StrucLink integration with ISM has been updated to support the ISM 3.0 file format. See What's New AD.2007-09.1.3 ISM Integration (J) Issues Addressed in OpenSTAAD (01) J) 01 The OpenSTAAD function 'Support.CreateSupportFixedBut' has been updated to ensure that the values of the second parameter array SPRING is assigned correctly. Previously the item of the array was being assigned to both FX and FY spring directions. (K) Issues Addressed with Printing (05) K) 01 The design parameter list in the Japanese steel design (AIJ) has been updated to include details of the CAN parameter which can be used for cantilever members. K) 02 The definition of Zx in the AIJ steel design sections of the International Codes Manual has been corrected. K) 03 The ASME NF section of the International Design Codes manual has been updated to clarify the design is always based on the bases of forces taken at 13 sections which may be controlled by a BEAM parameter in a number of other codes. Additionally the effect of defining members as TRUSS in an AMSE code check is also clarified. K) 04 The output from a steel design performed to the AISC codes when included in a User Report, has been improved when set to a TRACK 0 option the data can be viewed. K) 05 5.32.10.1.2 Response Spectrum Specification in Conjunction with the Indian IS: 1893 (Part 1)-2002 has been updated removing the statement that SRSS method with closely spaced modes would automatically switch to the CSM method as this is not the case with the Indian code.
