Why would Bentley Select not stand by the word of their Select Salespeople and blame the client for the LIES they were told?

In 2010 I purchased Powercivil for North America and was told VERY specifically that if I chose not to renew my Select License for a few years that I would NOT be charged any back penalties. So when I decided to go back on the plan, I was told I would have to pay for 4 years of back fees. And they freely admit, that their salesman may have lied to me to make the sale. (he is of course no longer there) Has anyone else had dealings with Luke Messer like this? Who can I speak with at Bentley to get this resolved except my designated representative? Does anyone have a name at corporate? I have been using Microstation since 1993 and have noticed that they have gone downhill ever since.  It would be cheaper for me to purchase a new AutoCad 3D license than to back pay for these Select Plan lies I was told!
