Although I can read the forum using the latest FireFox release (Quantum), the description field is not available when entering a new post. Everything else seems to be fine. Hopefully Bentley is working on this

No, I see all the text entry fields except no description field as below. FYI Windows 10 Pro and FireFox 57.0 64bit. I also reproduced this from my home system (also Win10 Pro). No problems with iExplorer or Chrome browsers.
Update - Tried today and get the description field from home system, will verify on work system Monday. Looks like someone fixed the problem (I didnt change anything, no FireFox update either).

It is hard to say what it could have been. Perhaps stale cache that expired and was refreshed when you tried again. Glad to hear it is working now, though.

That must have been it because when I first tried from my work system this morning the problem still existed. I then cleared my cache and all works fine now.
