Job Opportunity – Bentley Server Administrator, Overland Park KS; Jan 2018

Are you interested in a challenging and dynamic position working with a large, international, engineering firm? Designing, enhancing, supporting and monitoring a large number of servers and suite of Bentley software? 

The preferred applicant would meet the following requirements:

  • US Citizen required
  • Bentley Software – ProjectWise expertise is mandatory. Also OpenPlant, iModel composer and Navigator (in order of importance)
  • 3 years or more experience working with a team of 5 or more server, network analysts, DBAs, and application support analysts for a large global enterprise
  • 3-5 years or more of C++/.net programming experience
  • 5 years or more experience in application support for complex Wintel server and software environments for global enterprise
  • 1 year or more experience using new technologies for virtualization and hosting of systems in a plant design engineering and modeling environment
  • Work with client CIO Office, and business unit SMEs, to establish enterprise strategy and direction for multi-tier, collaborative, plant design systems including Bentley Systems. Past experience working in and supporting plant design engineers and technical staff
  • Excellent trouble shooting skills
  • Increased knowledge of Bentley set features and industry best practices for deployment and support by taking advanced training, attending user group meetings, participating and presenting at annual user conferences, and by joining technical advisory committees if applicable

 

Position Responsibilities:

  • Provide mentoring for application support and management teams
  • Defines and executes an enterprise configuration management and software delivery strategy for EES server and desktop software components
  • Works with company PMO to support projects to upgrade systems, or deploy new implementations or systems
  • Work with ITO Architects to define system infrastructure requirements for new systems
  • Provide shared after hours and weekend support for on call support and implementing changes during client downtimes
  • Assist with creation of environment documentation
  • Support development and exercise of disaster recovery plans

 

Additional information:

  • Applicant should reside in the Overland Park Kansas metropolitan area or be willing to travel to that location occasionally (5 – 10 days per year)
  • Position is a full time position but contract employees will be considered
