I would like to ask if there are any other limitations in Home Use License, except the commercial use. A client who purchased WaterCAD/1000 Pipes mentioned that the Home Use License appears some limitation in the number of the network pipes. Shouldn't be eligible for the same number og pipes?
Thanks
Hello Bill,
The Haestad product line is indeed limited to the lowest feature configuration for home use licenses. For WaterCAD, this means the user will not be able to compute a model with more than 10 pipes. This limitation may be changed in the future, but since home-use licenses are for non-commercial work, it typically does not pose a problem.
If the user intends to do commercial work from home, the built-in 30 day grace period with XM licensing will allow them to use their 1000 pipe WaterCAD license without a problem. If they need to work from home for over 30 days, they always have the option of checking out a license from the SELECTserver before bringing the computer home. Or, they may be able to use VPN to connect to their company network and access the license server directly.
If you have any other questions about this, please submit a service ticket to our licensing group.
