I learned Microstation 15 years ago in University. (I loved using Microstation with a passion!)
I have several old .dgn files from my old thesis I need converted to .3ds or .obj. (I prefer .3ds, collada is great too!)
I have not tried – perhaps I could install a current trial version of Microstation and convert to .obj or .3ds – do you know if this is possible?
If anyone is willing to convert the files to collada or .3ds or .obj for me I would be very grateful. Anyone willing to help a guy out – please?!
Unfortunately at this time I have no need to purchase Microstation. (I bought a full copy of the old program Microstation Triforma from 15 years ago – not sure if I can even install it on my current 64bit Vista) :?
ps – I have a full licensed copy of Deep Exploration 3D conversion tool which claims to open .dgn files, but it appears frozen with these files. This is why I'm appealing to you kind people for help. :D
I was able to convert one file with Deep Exploration, but I need 2 other files converted and they simply freeze in D.E. So, please, if you are willing to open my 2 (15 year old thesis) files and export them to collada or .3ds, I would be very grateful.
As a 3D/visualization expert, I may be able to help return the favor to you in some way?
Fletch, I don't see those options (.obj, .3ds) under export.
Sorry, I was looking in the wrong place, I see them now. Can you send me the files?
Thanks so much for the offer to help, Scott. Stuart was able to convert them for me. What a great community here! Thank you all.
