Should there be a Job Posting Forum?

I was talking with Todd at SCDOT about his post for a ProjectWise Admin here in the Everything Else forum.  I suggested that he should have posted his request on the ProjectWise forum as that is where I would expect to see it.  Todd told me that he did post the notice on the ProjectWise forum but that it was moved here after a day or so.  That surprised me.

Maybe I'm a bit odd, but I probably visit the ProjectWise forum a few times a week, or a few times a day if I'm waiting for a reply.  I'm lucky if I jump over to the Everything Else forum once a month.  Maybe that's because ProjectWise is a little "out there", even within the Bentley community which in itself is a little "out there".  I'm sure there are many Bentley applications that are somewhat segregated and where admins of those applications tend to be singularly focused within their forums.

The sad fact is that Todd's ProjectWise Admin position posted in this forum only generated one reply.  I don't think that is representative of the ProjectWise community and/or the current economy.  There simply must be more that one ProjectWise admin within our community looking for work.  I'm also somewhat sure that you could replace the word "ProjectWise" with 50 other Bentley applications and the same would be true.

All this to say that perhaps it would be beneficial to create a forum that would have both job openings and jobs wanted.  I don't know the first thing about Autodesk's community, but it took me all of 2 minutes to go to their site and find dozens of job positions under their Classified forum.

In this historically poor economy I would like to see this community do everything possibly to match unique Bentley skills with open job offerings.  I understand that Bentley doesn't prefer granular forums, but I think in this case it can only help in these difficult times.

If things get any worse at WSDOT, I might appreciate the effort first hand...
