I see that Autodesk has a DWG viewer App out now. Although I don't see much use for it on a phone I do think it would be useful on a tablet which are becoming more and more popular. I was hoping that Bentley would be first out of the gate on this. Are there any plans in the works? Maybe Bentley could put out a much more robust App or something that would give us the lead?

Hi John,
I don't know the details, but Bentley is certainly putting developpment efforts in supporting the different trendy mobile technologies available out there.
In fact, some announcement in this regard has just been made during our last Bentley users conference, BE Together, held last may (see www.bentleyuser.org/FeatureDetail.asp).
Thanks,
Mathieu
John,
While Bentley will probably come out with something technically superior to Autodesks offering I doubt it will take the lead for the following reasons.
1) You can upload to AutodeskWS cloud service for FREE.
2) You don't need to go thru the app to convert. You can upload/download DWG files with just a browser.
2) From the cloud you can share to anyone. All they need is a browser or a FREE ws app for their device.
3) Files can not only be viewed but also allow limited EDITING and PRINTING.
4) You DO NOT need to CONVERT files to another format.
Granted there are some limitation to their viewing and editing but what is there is simple, it works, and is FREE.
From the limited information I've seen BSI's solution requires Projectwise and converting the data to iModels. My interest died when I read that.
