Dealing with the maximum text size when working with MicroStation /J.
The maximum text size in a MicroStation design file is 12,884,946 positional units! If your design file working units is set up to 1m:100cm:10pu this will convert to 12884 meters or 5 plotted inches at 1:100,000. To place text larger than this you can do one of three things: 1) Change your working units - but please keep in mind that this will affect the measured sizes of all other elements. 2) Place the text, drop it down to it's primitives and then proceed to scale them up until you have the correct size. The only drawback to this is that the elements are not longer text therefore not 'editable'.3) Place the text in a separate file and attach as a reference. You can then scale up the attachement larger than the allowable text size. (As an alternative, try attaching the file to itself as a reference)
