Bentley's Chris Marks and Phil Chouinard explain what the Current Working Directory is all about:Current Work Directory is the value of _WORKDIR which is either the directory containing ustation.exe, or if you start MicroStation by double clicking a DGN in your file explorer, it is the directory path for that design file.If you don't double click on a DGN file, _WORKDIR is where the Start In field points to in the Windows shortcut. By default during installation, that's where the MicroStation executable exists, but if you change that location manually, _WORKDIR will subsequently be where you changed the location to.Note that the Current Work Directory is not the same as _DGNDIR which is the directory path to your active file.
