The judging for the Student Design and Educator of the Year submissions occurred on the 12th & 13th of April. A distinguished panel of judges from the UK, the US and Canada reviewed the many submissions from 13 countries; selecting the best in each category. And the winners are:

  • AGH University of Science and Technology in Poland with their design of “Nowy Klepartz” interchange was the winner in the Design of Road & Bridge category.
  • Shenkar College, Israel in the Animation & Rendering category. Their project was tilted the ‘Leonardi Davinci Project’
  • The winners in the category 'Innovation in Architectural Design' are students from Renssalaer Polytechnic Institute, Troy, NY. Their design titled 'Integrating Elemental Learning Elementary School' greatly impressed the judges.
  • Universiti of Teknologi in Malaysia won in the  'Innovation in GIS implementation category' with their '3D Geospatial for Underground Pipelines' project. 
  • Randolph High School, Randolph, NJ won in the Designing a Transportation Center category with their project titled Libman Airport.

Each team won a scholarship, a trophy for their school and individual medals.

The judges also chose the Educator of the year, Professor Guenther Maresch from University of Salzburg in Austria. This award recognizes a member of the academic community who has an outstanding record of achievement & is committed to inspiring students to pursue careers in the infrastructure professions.
