On attempting to load steel.ma I get the message "Application is not authorized to run on this product." Is this intended or a bug? If intended is there going to be a PowerDraft version?
Steel (like other free V8i Bentley Library Utilities) is currently intended for use on MicroStation.
Well given that PowerDraft is the 2D drafting product and Steel.ma is a 2D drafting tool perhaps it should work with PowerDraft.
Since MicroStation and PowerDraft are now so well aligned and the message says "not authorized to run on this product" allowing it to run should be trivial?
Is there a good reason not to allow it to run on PowerDraft? What has Bentley got to lose, no one is going to decide to buy MicroStation instead of PowerDraft just so they can use the library utilities!

Have to agree with you on this one Marc. It makes no sense for it to run on one and not the other.
I've been thinking about this and it would actually be good if the steel library was included by default and not as an add-on.
Unknown said:I just ran into this here. We only need the basic functionality that this tool provides so it's not worth the upgrade to full MicroStation to use it. It would be helpful if this can be made to work with PowerDraft. If not we will buy a cell library from elsewhere or I will spend hours creating one.
Phil no longer works at Bentley... but previous posts mention a very good alternative tool steel work...
