New SELECT Downloads site: improvement or otherwise?

My experience of the 'new' SELECT downloads page was adverse enough that I carried on using the link to the older one, but I see that's now gone.

So. Trying to discover what the latest available downloads are gives me (after much clicking, and waiting for Javascript and animations to work):

...which is clearly a step back, in my opinion. What do others think?

  • What I really don't understand about the new interface, is how you are supposed to choose the products to download. All I seem to get is product info, but no check box for selecting to download. Referring to the image below, I presume one of the left two columns is supposed to be a checkbox, however, it is not:

I have tried with IE 8,9 & 11, Firefox 31.7.0, Google Chrome 43.0.2357.134 and on various machines (Windows 7 Pro SP1, and Windows 7 Enterprise SP1), all with the same results. What am I missing, or did Bentley overlook when implementing this new interface, that something as basic as a checkbox could be missing on all of these browsers and OS? Using the old interface, is a fine workaround for now, however, I fear if Bentley stops allowing that, I will be totally stuck and unable to download anything.

Bentley/Phil, how can I resolve this issue?

  • Checkboxes appear next to the deliverable names if the account you are using has the ability to download products. If the checkboxes do not appear, you should first check with your site administrator. If you are the site administrator, then this is likely an account issue, so submitting a Service Request would be next.

  • The Service Request page requires selecting a product first, however, there is no product for SELECTservices.com, or anything similar. Any suggestions?
  • Are you selecting "Product Support" or "Website Assistance" from www.bentley.com/ServiceRequestManager? The latter would be a better option for this sort of situation.
