I've installed SELECTserver on my server 'veyron' - the server is 2008 r2 sp1 64bit and does have IIS on it
During the install I followed the instructions, created a new SQL database - use the SN & AK from my existing SELECTserver on my old server "Javelin"
Now - when I try and start the service I get the error 1067, and when I look in the event log the error states 'SELECT SERVER LICENSE NOT FOUND"
I'm trying to get this new SELECTserver up and running before I turn off the old one - but I have no idea what I'm doing wrong..
Any help? please?
As an alternative to setting up a new SELECTserver, please note that Bentley now offers a free licensing solution on the Internet known as Bentley CONNECT SELECTservices (aka SELECTserver OnLine or the "hosted" server). This option eliminates the need for an in-house SELECTserver. The following FAQ provides more information. Of special note, the defect mentioned in my previous response has already been addressed in Bentley CONNECT SELECTservices.
Version 08.11.07.111 is the latest currently available. SELECTserver 09.00.00.xxx was pulled several months ago because of a defect that affects usage data from some current Bentley products such as MicroStation V8i SS3, causing activation issues in some cases. I have been informed by product management that the next deployable release of SELECTserver will address this, but no estimates on a release date have been provided.
Please select from the Windows Start menu:All Programs -> Bentley -> SELECTserver -> License Management Tool
Select Options from the Tools menu, and ensure that license settings are entered here as they are utilized by the SELECTserver Gateway service. Then attempt to start the service again.
If the service still fails to start, please run the following batch file to manually generate a local copy of the license file for use by the Gateway. Let us know your results.
