PowerDraft V8i - Activates But Still Prompts for Activation on Each Startup

Hi,

I have installed PowerDraft V8i and activated using the 'Site Activation Key' provided by 'STUDENTserver', however each time I turn on my machine and start PowerDraft I am prompted to re-enter the activation details and the countdown for the trial period progresses towards the end of the timer (currently 9 days left!). When prompted I re-enter the activation details, which are accepted, but yet when I got to 'Utilities->License Management->Activation Status' it is indicated that I am still in trial mode?

Please can you advise as to steps to take so as to fully activate PowerDraft with the activation key so that I may avoid reaching the end of the trial period?

Many thanks in advance and I look forward to your assistance.

Kind Regards,

Gavin

  • A licensing error log will help with troubleshooting efforts. Please generate one using the following steps:

    1. Open the License Management Tool from within PowerDraft.
    2. Enable error logging using the following support solution as a guide.
    3. Select Send Logs Now from the Tools menu within the License Management Tool. This will attempt to send product usage to Bentley and should capture some diagnostic information.
    4. Upload the resulting licdebug.log file using our Secure File Upload service.
    5. Reply to this forum post when the upload has finished so that a Bentley support analyst can retrieve and analyze the file from the Secure File Upload service.

Important: Please do not post your licdebug.log directly in the forum post since it contains licensing information that should not be made public.

  • Hi,

Thank you for the quick reply, I have uploaded the file as requested. Unfortunately I could not re-create the steps that normally occur, as I was not prompted to activate when starting PowerDraft. However, I did proceed to successfully activate within the program anyway, and the activation status remains as 'trial mode'.

If you need anything else then please ask, if the exact same process occurs again I will create another error log also.

I hope you can help and I look forward to hearing from you.
