Hello All,
A user of ours has STADD Pro v8i on their PC. They've recently been unable to access the software due to an error message - "License for STAAD_foundation unavailable."
The other user trying to run the software during the tests was the user experiencing the issue so it's not as if we were out of licences, I checked the license manager to find 3 licenses were available but doesn't seem to work.
Running the software as a Domain Administrator allows it to work but obviously we don't want to be entering the password every time the user want's to use STAAD.
I think this may be a file permission issue or something similar but don't know which files/license the user should have access to.
Please could someone shed some light on this?
Kindest,
Ryan
Note that the "License STAAD_Foundation is unavailable" message is coming from SofTrack, a third-party license manager, not from a Bentley application. It is likely looking for a license of STAAD.foundation, a discontinued license that is now covered under the STAAD.Pro license for versions of STAAD.foundation 5.3 included with STAAD.Pro V8i SS5 and later. My responses in the following forum post provide more information. You may want to consider modifying the licensing rules in SofTrack to permit access to STAAD.foundation 5.3 if a STAAD.Pro license is available.
