Custom Activation Group

If you have multiple activation keys (for example 1 for gINT users and 1 for Microstation users) will I need a third key for some one uses both applications?

Do I have to make sure that group policy can tell the difference between a gINT users and Microstation users?

  • Creation of a third Custom Activation Group (CAG) will certainly fulfill the licensing needs of engineers utilizing both products. If the management of multiple CAGs becomes too laborious, however, then create a CAG containing only the products your company uses. Then regulate access by installing only specific Bentley products on machines where they are needed. If gINT is not installed on a machine, for instance, then usage for this product will not be generated for that machine. If you are concerned about users generating usage by checking out licenses for unauthorized products, checkouts can be restricted to certain products or disabled altogether from the Checkout Restrictions and Site Settings pages on the SELECTserver administration site.
