After installing Microstation V8i SS4 Version 08.11.09.829 on a Windows 10 x64 machine I cannot get the license activation to 'take'. I've done the license management tool Activation Wizard numerous times. I've tried to repair installation, shut down computer restart and still getting this upon opening Microstation.
The screenshot indicates some license mapping problems since none of the product names are displaying properly. To better determine what is happening, please enable error logging. Then select Send Logs Now from the Tools menu. Once complete, please upload the resulting licdebug.log file to Bentley using the Secure File Upload page for further analysis.
Important: The error log contains sensitive licensing information specific to your site. Please do not post the log file directly in the forum post.
I uploaded my logs as requested. Not sure what to do now. Because I need to work and not have this issue constantly, I decided to uninstall the SS4 version and revert back to my last working version 08.11.09.459 SS3. BUT now, it has the same problem failing to activate. I am using a deployed local select server license.
For anyone else following this thread, the issue was determined to be a license database that had reached the maximum size permitted by SQL Server Express. Once a new license database was created, products activated again.
