How do I check out a V8 license from Select Server XM?

I have a question along those same lines. We've been checking out V8 licenses for years without any problems. Recently we upgraded Select Server to the latest version and now there's a problem.…

That did it! Specifically, I had to go into "Checkout Restrictions". It showed a list of all products and stated that if none were checked then they were all available. I checked the 3 applications…

We have a deployed SSXM and the Gateway resides on the same server - how do I check out the license from the Gateway?

That would be done from the V8 application. For example, in MicroStation under the Utilities pull down menu go to License Checkout. From there you can choose the application you wish to check out. Please let me know if I'm missing the point here.
