We are slowly getting Connection Client running and getting users to sign in. We are seeing discrepancies in our Connected users list. The response to our ticket was to have the users send logs. This is much easier said than done. I'm not sure about other companies and organizations but asking all your users to open the license manager and send the logs everyday to assure Bentley is getting the appropriate information will result in VERY unhappy users and frankly, I would think the product would work so this isn't necessary. Being that there is no way to know whether the users have connected and if they need to send the log files, is there a way we could run Bentley.lictransmit.exe as part of the login script so we are not asking our users to spend time everyday doing it?
Thanks, we are seeing machines where the user has logged into the Connect Client for 3 or more weeks but still not showing up in the Users Report. This should help with those situation. Thanks again.
When Bentley products are used on a client machine, usage is stored locally and sent automatically the next day a Bentley product is used. Sending logs manually from the License Management Tool merely expedites the process but is not required. If you want to send logs in a programmatic fashion, however, please execute Bentley.lictransmit.exe. A copy is included with the CONNECTION Client at C:\Program Files\Common Files\Bentley Shared\CONNECTION Client. If CONNECTION Client is allowed to start automatically when the user logs in (the default setting) it will likely send logs anyway. Please note that newly connected machines usually take about three days to update on the CONNECTED Users report.
