Hi,
I recently installed Bentley View v8i, so that i could view some customer files. To do this I signed up for a Bentley account as I don't have any Bentley products or subscriptions (nor do i need any). However after installation i now have an extremely invasive pop up every time i restart my machine, asking me to sign into Bentley Connection Client. I want to uninstall this as I don't need it, yet every time i try it fails. Reading the forums seems to suggest I should sign in, but I don't have access, and am being told to contact my administrator (which as I said above, I don't have as I don't have any software). Can anybody help me as to how to uninstall this stuff? I'm a bit flummoxed and a bit concerned that i cant get rid of it. I have looked through the forums but can't find anything to help me, so apologies if this has already been asked and answered - please feel free to point me to that if so. If the answer is to just uninstall everything from Bentley, then please advise, I am coming round to the idea that would work for me.

Bentley View is a Product so this is why you are being asked to sign in. Even as a Non-SELECT user we now allow for unaffiliated users to sign in (users with no assigned Organization). Once you sign in you can change the preferences for the CONNECTION Client. Information in it can be found here: https://communities.bentley.com/communities/other_communities/sign-in_assistance_and_web_services/w/wiki/23730/sign-in
Thanks
Hello James,
To add to Glenn I recommend that you install the latest version of the CONNECTION Client: https://store.bentley.com/en/products/iware/1000CC--CONNECTION-client
That version will allow you to sign in to the CONNECTION Client.

I confirmed in a test environment that CONNECTION Client can uninstall under normal circumstances. Please execute the following command from an Administrator Command Prompt to uninstall the version of CONNECTION Client included with Bentley View:
MsiExec.exe /x {D03E0EB3-5E30-3271-A152-7B736DD0E711} /lv "%UserProfile%\Desktop\CC_Uninstall.log"
The command will generate a log file on your desktop to record the process in case it fails. If the uninstall process fails, please submit the CC_Uninstall.log file to me for further analysis. Because the log reveals the profile name of the current user, I recommend submitting it via our Secure File Upload page and notifying me once it is submitted.
Please note that Bentley View requires the CONNECTION Client to function. If you still intend to use Bentley View, I recommend installing the latest version mentioned by Tamicca. The version of CONNECTION Client included with Bentley View predates some important security changes, hence why it cannot sign in. Newer versions have addressed this.
Thanks! This helped and the new version allowed me to sign in and update my preferences. Appreciate the quick response and for pointing me in the right direction.
Hi Jeremy. Thanks for this, much appreciated. Thanks to Tamicca's help above I got sorted, so didn't need to uninstall after all as i managed to get signed in and get it working which is what I was really after. Appreciate you taking the time to troubleshoot and provide a suggestion and feedback though, so thanks for taking that. If you get a chance to feedback, this experience of being unable to uninstall something unless you first updated it is not ideal, suggest that gets fixed at some point.
